My friend’s sister has no job, and all she does is play on her ps3 for about 10-12 hours a day. She won’t job hunt and is stuck in a rut but she won’t listen to us. If anyone can help us disable the ps3 without breaking it so she can’t play it, and get off her ass that would be awesome.

Every house has an electric power control switch or something. Go find the switch and turn off the power to the room where the PS3 is only. The switches in the power control should be labeled.
Hider her cables. Does your friend have bi-polar or some other disease. Im serious because my aunt apparently was like that ( not with video games) but she wouldn’t look for a job, and would just stay home. Maybe she’s addicted? It can happen.
To disable it like i said hide the cables. Either the power or AV cables. ( or both).
The easiest way to disable the PS3 is by removing the harddisc.
If the console is standing upright, put it in a horizontal position.
When facing the front of the console, on the left side is a plastic flap. Open it, and you should see a small cage that is held in place by a blue screw.
Open the screw.
Now depending on the PS3 model, there are two different ways to remove the harddisc cage.
In the older models, you need to slide the cage to the front of the console and then pull it out to the left.
In newer models, you just pull the cage out of the slot.
Then place the plastic flap back and if necessary put the console upright again.
You now have a disabled PS3.
you should just get the av cable or hdmi cable that goes from the ps3 to the tv. the ps3 will work but it wont show on the tv
What About The Parental Control On The Ps3? She Could Still Reset The Password Though By System Restore. If She’s Broke Then Take The Controllers And The Hard Drive, They Cost The Most To Replace Or Simply Just Take The Ps3 System And Hide It . It Does Not Void Your Warranty To Take Out Hard Drive. If You Want To Open It Up And Void The Warranty There Are Tons Of Ways (Disconnecting Cable To the Power Switch Effectively Disabling It And Just Plugging It Back Up When You Want To Use It.) This Happened With My Brother So I Understand.
Well i guess if your friend doesn’t know about the switch in the back then you could turn that off. But if she does (most likely) then just easily either take away her games or take away the consoles i would recommend the consoles cause she could still go on internet.
